"DIGITAL COWBOYS"

A deconstruction of the modernist myth of originality. This work's principal conceptual strategy goes beyond simple appropriation: it bluntly challenges the authenticity of a work of art, the nature of authorship itself, and the sanctity of copyrighted material. the context of the work is displayed via web based platform as a mirror of it’s former self, therefore, altering its original role creating a new artistic and aesthetic statement. For creators, more restrictive copyrights are neither desirable nor beneficial. For artists freedom of expression includes freedom to access preexisting culture. One could argue that freedom is rooted in the notion of freedom through access.
